Training Cats – Toilet Training Cats

Toilet training cats is one of the most important trainings that you must give to your cat. If you are a cat owner, it is very necessary to train your cats to use the toilet for hygiene reasons for both cats health and the master. Toilet training cats has a long been a suggestion for keeping cats disciplined in terms of peeing and pooping. For the past few years, training cats has become prominent among most pet owners. Many pet owners prefer to toilet training cats to get rid of stinky cat urine smell and complete removal of pet litter from their homes.

Toilet training cats are easier task than you might think. Many techniques can be used for training cats to use the toilet, and you can even buy products that will assist you in toilet training cats. To learn toilet training cats, you need a good dose of patience. It will take time to teach your cat this method since cat’s are creatures of habit. They generally don’t take to new habits very quickly. This must be done gradually and with kindness. Don’t hit, scold, or punish the cat for not using the toilet right away. 

Toilet training cats basically consists of a simple procedure: 

1. Gradually moving your cat's litter box closer and closer to the toilet,day by day toilet training cats are gradual, step-by-step process, consisting of making small changes to the location of the litter box and only continuing to the next step when your cat is entirely comfortable with its current situation. You might have to wait anything between 2 days or 3 weeks before moving on a next step in toilet training cats. The cat litter box should be raised until it is at a level height with the toilet bowl. Throughout this process it is very important to keep the toilet lid open and the seat down, because your cat will get used to it and might even start climbing on the toilet seat in order to reach its litter box. If your cat still feel comfort until pass this step, then you can move on a next step in toilet training cats.
3.  Replace the litter box with a "training box" is the next step that you can do. You have a few different options here, but the important thing to remember is to make sure the "training box" can hold your cat's weight if they step or jump onto it:  
• Lift the toilet seat and tape a piece of wax paper over the hole so that the toilet looks like a drum. Lower the seat over the wax paper. Add flushable litter.
•  Lift the toilet seat and tape a bowl or aluminum pan to the edges. Put the seat down so that it holds the bowl in place. 
• Use a commercial training device, sold specifically for this purpose.
4.  The last step in toilet training cats is, the transition into the cat using only the toilet. If using wax paper or an aluminum pan, cut a hole about one inch in diameter in the center and gradually increase the size of the hole until it is almost gone. If you're using a training seat, remove the rings, once at time. This is done to gradually get the cat used to urinating or defecating into water. Simultaneously, no matter which method you're using, reduce the amount of litter so that there is no litter when the paper, bowl, or device is removed. 

 

Training cats to use the toilet can hold several advantages for every cat owner. The biggest advantage of having toilet training cats are that eliminates most of the disadvantages that using cat litter holds. Cat litter is expensive. After toilet training cats, you won't ever need to buy cat litter again. Cat litter boxes needs to be cleaned regularly or they will become smelly. With toilet training cats, the water in the toilet masks most of the offending smell and all you need to do is flush regularly - much simpler and easier than cleaning a litter box.

But there are also the disadvantages by training cats to use the toilet. The disadvantages of toilet training cats are like the toilet seats can be slippery and can be risk for the cats. Moving locations will also be harder for cat because a litter box can be moved easily but the cat will first need to get used to using the new toilet. With some cats this is no problem and they can become comfortable with the new toilet very fast, while other cats might be less adaptable.  And then there are some people who disagree about this toilet training cats bacause it’s unnatural for cats to use a toilet.
